Project Awakening
For years I have wanted to make a sculpture, inspired
by the Pirelli calendar of the year 2000.
These photo's were made by the renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz, the model
for the photograph is Julie Worden and it's the photograph of the month of
October.

All photo's of this calendar 2000 have a certain
sculptural radiation and in my opinion approach woman with the respect and reverence they
deserve.
Here the beginning of " Awakening" absolutely not a copy of
but an addition to the photograph.
I integrated and entwined my own feelings for proportions and
details in the sculpture, and incorporated an already well-known feature of my
sculptures, the flattened, polished bronze face.
She has already been poured in bronze and
is awaiting further work to be done by me.
