The first, still complete, idea,
sculptured in wax.
Initially with "Sky is the Limit" as title.
At this time it was only a sculpture as form.
The soul was not yet created and the deeper thought behind this creation was
only the extreme.
The challenge was to see how I could again be able to combine fragility and
strength.
Then the idea came, when seeing that the
wax model without the head was better.
I then decided that less can become more and cut away everything that was
in the way of letting the sculpture speak.
When somebody close to me told me he was
going to lose his spouse and best friend to cancer, it really hit home.
What would it feel like if I lost my lover,
spouse and best friend?
That started the creation of falling to
pieces.
